The Time Has Come!
Yes ladies and gents, it's the moment you've all been waiting for, the triumphant return of Runt and Candy!

Over two years ago, we said farewell to Runt and Candy. Well they did not like being ignored. To be honest, they've never been far from my mind. I started work on the Special Edition book almost immediately. It would have been ready sooner (a LOT sooner), but printing delay after annoying delay led to me, finally, broke and discouraged, having to shelve the dream of getting the book printed. The only copy is the proof you can see in the picture above, which was just not at the quality I wanted.

That said, tablets! Everyone's got a tablet these days. So hopefully this e-release will make up for this loss. All of the strips are there, and I've enhanced all of them, adding backgrounds to the 300 (300!) strips that were previously blank boxes of colour. This was an enormous amount of work for me, but now I present it to you, free of charge, as my gift. Any donations I receive go to paying for future endeavours - for example, the wonderous Surfersquid has paid for the hosting for the first year for

So when Special Level finished a few weeks ago, Obviously I needed a new project to replace it, because if I ever stop making comics I'll die. That new comic is Magipunk.

Once I'd finished the Totally Kotor book revisions (and whilst waiting for the printers to get their lazy butts in gear, before finally conceding that they were never going to pick up the ball they'd dropped) I started work on redesigning Runt and Candy, and on building a fun new universe for them to play in. My time of parodying established intellectual property is mostly behind me (mostly...) and I wanted to make a comic universe that I could keep playing in for many, many years.

Perhaps you've read Tales of Felicity, but you probably haven't. The basic gist is that the spaceships are made of wood and powered by
magic. I figured it could be a new genre, like Steampunk. Hence: Magipunk (if you haven't clicked this link by now, shame on you.

Taking Runt and Candy out of the Star Wars universe has been fun - it's really freeing to take these two characters and put them in new setting and scenarios of my own device. Whether they'll compare to the classic adventures you'll have to decide for yourself.

But yes. Runt and Candy are back. They don't have lightsabers (although Runt has a spoon, which is kind of a frightening weapon if you think about the implications for combat), and they wear their piratical tendencies on their sleeve a lot more, and Candy's wrapped up in a leather corset, but ladies and gents, it is the real Runt and Candy, they're back, and they're here to stay.

Here's to some evil and stuff.
